Several years ago, I started to explore photography with a small digital camera my college-bound daughter left behind. At that time, I was working on my Master's Degree in transformative leadership & spirituality at Hartford Seminary. As my understanding of the divine deepened, my photos became more spiritual in nature.
After almost 50 years of summering in Old Saybrook, CT, my husband and I had the good fortune of making our year-round home here. It's a blessing to spend countless hours walking the beach, breathing the salt air, listening to the seagull calls, hearing the roar of the waves, and gathering the many treasures left behind after each high tide.
My biggest inspiration has been to capture and share the beauty in the common that often gets overlooked. It's the smaller details overshadowed by daily activities that hold the key to a deeper connection to nature and joy. As you look at these photos, I hope you hear the sound of the waves, smell the salty air, feel the coarse sand and really see the birds for what they are.
